The Tom Devitt Award - 2014- Michel Fontaine - Les Marmitons Sandy Springs
Since joining the Sandy Springs Chapter of Les Marmitons in 2008, Michel’s dedication and enthusiasm has been exemplary. In attending almost every chapter cooking event over these years he has brought excitement, fun, and good times together in the kitchen and in the dining room.
For any cooking event Michel jumps at the opportunity to be a team leader and does a great job in providing guidance to our guests and newest members, always emphasizing the need for safety, hygiene, and proper dress.
Michel has sponsored two new members in just the last year, has another guest in process, and has a waiting list of others to bring into the Sandy Springs chapter.
While serving on the chapter executive board in charge of Chef Relations for a few years he not only coordinated the commitment of guest chefs for all of our cooking events, but he contributed to lively and productive discussion on important executive issues, and always was eager to search for entrepreneurial solutions to any problem at hand.
Michel can be counted on to bring smiles and laughter to all cooking events and to any other chapter endeavor. Although the chapter leadership sometimes has to bridle his vocal enthusiasm, his participation and unique personality help make the Sandy Springs chapter strong and inviting to our members and guests.
