2011 Ron Seiberling – Les Marmitons Atlanta
Ron joined the Atlanta chapter of Les Marmitons in the fall of 2000, serving as treasurer as of 2002, and as of 2007 as chapter president.
In the fall of 2003, at the invitation of the Les Marmitons International (LMI), Ron began work to develop an organizational structure that would provide LMI with a stronger foundation for governance. Over the course of several years, he was able to assist LMI in developing a structure relying on a Board of Directors to govern the organization, drafting a set of Bylaws and Policies to govern LMI, and developing a plan for the transition to the strengthened organization.
He coordinated the process of incorporating Les Marmitons International as a non-profit social club in Georgia and applying for tax exempt status from U.S. Internal Revenue Service by 2006.
Ron was elected treasurer of LMI in June of 2005. During his tenure as treasurer, he established guidance for chapters to provide summaries of their finances to the LMI Treasurer annually. These summaries provide a report to the Board on the general health of the member chapters and indicate whether chapter's finances are in accordance with the LMI Bylaws.
He continues to serve as treasurer, and as a member of the LMI Board and the Board Executive Committee. During the 2011-2012 season, Ron served as interim president of the Sandy Springs chapter.
