2017 JP Jobin Award Winner - Jim Sullivan - Les Marmitons Sandy Springs
Les Marmitons Sandy Springs was at a challenging cross-road during the 2011/2012 season when the chapter’s long time president had resigned, and Ron Seiberling of the Atlanta Chapter had volunteered to assume the chapter’s leadership on an interim basis. During this period, after being inducted as a member of Les Marmitons only four months earlier, Jim Sullivan offered to assume the role of President of the Sandy Springs Chapter.
For the next three years Jim’s professional approach to leading the chapter’s activities, using his business skills and seasoned with great enthusiasm and thoughtfulness, created a strong foundation to meaningfully improve the chapter’s growth and financial position. Membership increased 50%, and the financial balance sheet doubled over the next three years.
Jim invested countless hours behind the scenes working with the LMSS Board to ensure that guest chefs were recruited, new members were engaged, and needed chapter bylaws were created. LMSS increased its presence in the Atlanta-area chefs’ community, and especially improved its support of Les Marmitons International business meetings and annual gala events over the following years.
Jim continues to serve on the LM Sandy Springs Board as Past-President, enthusiastically participates in all chapter activities, and looks forward to extending his uninterrupted streak of attending annual LMI Galas with his wife Marita!
